PCDCAS (Short Chronology from Christ to Sarmento) is an artist book conceived in collaboration with the late renowned Portuguese multimedia artist and painter Julião Sarmento. Initiated during his lifetime and completed posthumously, the object pays homage to the artist’s legacy.

PCDCAS offers a comprehensive listing of artists who influenced the art world, born between Christ’s and the artist’s own birth, arranged both alphabetically and chronologically—offering two distinct ways to navigate art history through a personal and temporal lens.

Designed as a pocket-sized edition, PCDCAS draws inspiration from the iconic vintage Langenscheidt dictionaries. Its unique double-cover format allows readers to flip between the two lists, creating a tactile and conceptual interplay between time and taxonomy.
