The Allianz Summer Academy brought together students and policymakers. The publication had to speak to both. A two-colour system and a custom illustration per issue: enough personality to break from the corporate register, enough restraint to keep its institutional footing.

Allianz Summer Academy

From 2014 to 2018, Allianz Kulturstiftung organised the Allianz Summer Academy, bringing together students, thinkers, and policymakers from five European universities to discuss EU political, social, and economic challenges. At the end of each programme, the resulting essays and policy recommendations were published in a collective report.

The brief was to create a publication identity that could carry across future issues while making mostly textual content visually compelling. Each issue is printed in two colours: black and one Pantone colour that runs throughout. Each cover carries a custom vector illustration interpreting the title of that edition. Simple, direct, specific to the content.
