Drawing on the tradition of the beatnik reading – Bukowski, Kerouac, the spoken word generation – the performance unfolds structured around Assassination 8, a text in which Mosquito reflects on life paths and the relationships that shape and sometimes break us. An exploration of failure, friendship, and the contradictions of existence that turns into a quasi-spiritual reading session.
Six large fabric panels on aluminium tube frames occupy the performance space alongside the artist. Their composition draws from two sources: stained glass, as a path to the spiritual, where divine light enters sacred space through fragmented colour and image, and shooting targets, whose concentric rings become the lead lines organising the composition and framing the image fragments contained within. For the final performance at Theater Rotterdam, the panels became a single floor-to-ceiling vitral installed on a glass wall.
